Coleman 5.4V Flashcell Cordless Screwdriver

The tool that Colleen uses just to screw around at work.

The Coleman Flashcell screwdriver is a very surprising little piece of technology. Rather than using batteries like a normal electric screwdriver, which may be NiCad or Lithium Ion based, this screwdriver uses Coleman's "flash cell" branded super capacitor technology.

Essentially, you drop this screwdriver into its base, and it takes 90 seconds to charge to a full charge. There is even a nifty little analog needle gauge that allows you to see how quickly this thing is filling up with juice.

Never again will you be trying to do something that requires a screwdriver, only to find that you are out of batteries, and that it will take the rest of the day for the thing to change. No my friends, never again, for we are living in the era of instant gratification.

Another great feature of this technology is the fact that you will essentially never wear out the energy storage cell. The life of the capacitor is rated at 500,000 cycles, but I have a feeling even that is low.

If you work with tech, you are always turning those little Phillips head screws, and you need one of these. Enjoy!
